We think OpenID is ace, it massively simplifies managing all those logins and passwords you have, it’s far more secure and it’s totally free!

Connected understand the need to avoid re-inventing the wheel and also keeping things as simple as possible so have committed to use OpenID. OpenID is a shared identity service that allows users (real people) to log onto multiple web-sites and services using a single, unique, identity. We have been using OpenID internally since 2006 as a simple way to rationalise the vast number of login required to look after our systems and this has simplified the management of passwords and access hugely.

Lots of commercial companies are now supporting this simplified identification process and we strongly recommend you create an OpenID for yourself.

The OpenID Foundation is non-profit and supports the development of the standard. There are a number of commercial companies providing OpenID technology support (here is a complete list.)
