We believe that the "Flat Web Society" is very flawed. Each visitor gets the same experience as everyone else which just doesn't make sense. When you develop your site and it is aimed at a group called "everyone", you are forced to make compromises - on your content/copy, the navigation, the design and your objectives for the site.
The dynamic web has a much better understanding of what the visitor wants, and provides a vastly superior experience; an experience that is predominantly personalised for the visitor and that better matches his or her needs and those of you, the website owner.
The silent salesperson
With flat websites having to meet the needs of anyone who might stop by, the key sales messages that you would want to get across to specific groups cannot be given their appropriate space.

Web statistics are poor
The current crop of session and page reporting systems are very complex and very powerful. Some can even make sense of real people and try to give you meaningful statistics and value rating. But the learning you get from them can take time and effort to understand, and can be misleading because, ultimately, they tend to only explain why something happened in the past.
You then have to translate these "findings" into recommendations and implement them on your (different) web platform. These very changes may then invalidate any other reporting you might have.
