And we’ve moved our London office

London Office.

We’ve serviced clients in London since 1997. And it was time (actually overdue) to move to a more accessible location.

We are now based at the iconic, grade 1 listed, Kings Cross Station. Specifically the East Side building which is, unsurprisingly, on the East (right-hand) side of the station.

Kings Cross East Side office locationAccessed from front of station on the corner of York Way and Euston Road, just to the right of the beautiful arches looming over the main entrance. The offices have been comprehensively refurbished revealing the original brickwork and steel and iron features of the building in a joint partnership between Network Rail and The Office Group.

Previously we were based in Bloomsbury, in the old NUT building, and whilst a lovely place to work and even live it was a little out of the way and not that convenient.

We spend a huge amount of time up and down the East Coast mainline between London and Yorkshire and it simply made better sense to be located closer to Kings Cross. And you can’t get any closer than being being INSIDE Kings Cross Station. That also brought the benefit of better access for client/supplier meetings, shorter commutes and a more iconic location (everyone knows how to get to Kings Cross).

Immediately across the road is St Pancras International, giving us access to Midland Main Line, Eurostar services, Southeastern high-speed trains to Kent via High Speed 1, and a major interchange for Thameslink services between Bedford and Brighton.

They are regarded as a single complex for interchange purposes, and form one of Britain’s biggest transport hubs. The station is also only around half a mile from Euston, the southern terminus for the West Coast Main Line.

You’d struggle to find a better connected (sic) location in the UK.

Downsides?. Apart from some old-fashioned post-code snobbery (we’re now N1 and previously we were WC2), there are very few. We lack any green space on the doorstep – it was nice lounging in Bloomsbury Square in the summer but the on-site facilities are better and suit our flexible working much better.

We also have more distractions, from a wider choice of pubs (Parcel Yard, John Betjeman etc) to the Harry Potter Experience, but that’s maybe a good thing. Happy folks do great work!
