Is the rise of flexible working a myth? [infographic]

Already re-tweeted, but this article from Virgin is really good and worth commenting on.

Three quarters of workers are not permitted to work remotely as often as they wish.

It’s been shown that remote and/or location independent working is more efficient, more satisfying and sustainable with a happier workforce.

So why are companies insisting on grim morning commutes and crappy 9-5 time-keeping? I suspect this all boils down to trust and fear – if the bosses trusted people we’d all be happier, the roads/trains less crowded and we’d be much more productive. And if employees understood how easy it is to be independent they might push a little harder.

Here’s the accompanying Infographic.
