Whilst the growth of mobile might have shock and awed many marketing folks, consumers are engaging in a way that has never been seen before. Smartphone users are multi-tasking with 80% using their phone while doing other things such as watching TV. A staggering one third of smartphone users have made a purchase on their phone. It’s also giving rise to innovative new applications based around geo-location, local search, video, in-car applications and social networks – all areas that the traditional PC failed to make any impact.
